Life lately...

Here's a glimpse in photos into some of what I've been up to this past month...

Visiting with the folks of the Child Nutrition Program in El Cercado...  and when we get the chance Angel, Yairis and I like to explore the plot of land behind the clinic and then eat the goodies we find...

I got to "hold down the fort" at the Guesthouse with the dogs while Nicole, Dan & Kari were away.  We had a couple storms during that time... grateful things went as smoothly as they did, but it was interesting for sure...

School has started, so that means gearing up for organizing the sponsored student rosters, preparing for letters and photos... Here's a couple shots from the first day at El Cercado.

I turned 34!  I LOVE birthdays- they're like you're own personal holiday and I believe in celebrating all that my years have taught me and look forward to what's in store.  God is good.

Dan and Kari surprised me with decorations and breakfast.  Calls from the states including the yearly recounting of my birth and singing by my mother.  :)  Got a pedicure with Kari.  Went to the pool with them and Wilmar (who brought me special birthday guayabas), and then we had dinner, a fogata, dominos, dancing, and hot chocolate in my favorite neighborhood.  What a day! :)

And then this past weekend, we went to visit our dear friend Emma who is in Jarabacoa with Youth with a Mission.  So great catching up with her and seeing more of the country.  It is BEAUTIFUL! and we had a blast exploring through the mountains and playing in waterfalls.

yes that's me... skipping... cuz I can :)

I'll be heading to the states soon for about a month for neck surgery.  Hoping to enjoy some recoup time with family and friends and will be eager to get back to the DR and jump back into things here.  I'm learning a lot these days about trust.  and I trust that I will keep learning more...
