Over the past few weeks, time and time again I have been reminded that God is More than Enough. All Sufficient. Whether through church services, songs, in my devotions, or just in random moments of life, this theme has continued to pop up over and over again. Continuing to struggle with my health, God has repeatedly shown His grace and love for me and displayed His strength and glory through my weakness. I am in awe as I step back and see the hand of God at work here in the Dominican Republic, moving within and through Solid Rock, and in my own life and relationships.
As always, life has been full. Here's a glimpse into some of what has been happening...
There have been visits to the schools
| Students at the Lamb of God School in Elias PiƱa |
Sponsor/Student Get-togethers
| Jenny has been sponsoring these 11th grade twins since they were in 3rd grade. |
Visiting with families in the Child Nutrition Program
| A sweet family in Siembra Vieja outside of El Cercado. |
| It's a year later and Willy is thriving! |
And there's also been time for some fun :)
My host brother graduated from college, and I was able to spend four days visiting with him and other family members in San Pedro.
| Nicole and I with part of my host family. |
| The proud graduate with his parents. |
A group of us celebrated Nicole's birthday by spending the day at the Sabana Yegua dam.
| The gang |
| Terry and I with birthday girl Nicole. |
| I learned how to fish- and even caught 3 all by myself! |
| No celebration is complete without a little dominos action. |
And we celebrated baby Nicol's 2nd birthday with her and her family. Nicole helped deliver baby Nicol 2 years ago when she was born. She was named in her honor.
"For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations." Psalm 100:5
Thank you for this, and your work Laura. May our Lord truly bless you and keep you safe.
