Behind the scenes

In celebration of finishing the process of updating 1,048 student profiles including letters and photos this past weekend, here's a sneak peek behind the scenes of Sponsorship photos.

Smiling on the spot, turns out to be a little more difficult than one would sometimes think...

Some students aren't quite sure how to do it and it turns into a growl...
While others just aren't in the mood...

There are criers...

And those who would just rather hide...

Followed by quite a few who just don't know what to do :) ...

But every so often, the excitement of it all just can't be contained...

But don't believe for a second that it's just the little ones that have a bit of trouble... the older ones can be rather confused too!

So sponsors, if come January you're a bit disappointed with how your student's photo turned out when you get it in the mail, know that we tried our very best, and remember there is always next year...
I reveal the winner of this year's "MOST IMPROVED" award.

Last year, it took 12 tries to get this pic from sweet Y...

However, this year she entered with a grin, first snap of the camera, and NAILED it!

It's been a busy, yet fun time of year. This year the team pitched in to help, and I got to spend days with Jeff, Kate, Nicole, and Kamanda, creating fun wherever we roamed...

But, let's not forget our fearless photographer, Chino.  Here he is making his favorite face. haha. He likes to slide these self-portraits in the mix so it's always a fun surprise to find them when editing and cropping the students' shots. This year's count of this face-- 17 :)

Lest we forget, this year the bosses and Joe's mom joined in the fun as well...

I hope you've enjoyed your glimpse into a bit of what the fall holds for us in Student Sponsorship. I wouldn't have it any other way!
